Nell’Antico Egitto esistevano tre tipi di nome:
“Il grande nome”,
il “bel nome”
e il “soprannome”
Il bel nome era l’abbreviazione del grande nome usato familiarmente e alle volte non era in relazione con il grande nome ma era un vero e proprio soprannome.
Il nome non era una semplice assegnazione, infatti, secondo la credenza attraverso la sua conoscenza si poteva magicamente dominare la persona che portava quel nome.
Motivo per cui quando si voleva annientare una persona, si sopprimeva il suo nome martellandolo via dalle iscrizioni .
