La Fontana Angelica di piazza Solferino fu costruita secondo regole massoniche.
Richiesta al Comune dal grand’ Ufficiale Pietro Bajnotti a ricordo dei propri genitori inizialmente la sua collocazione era prevista di fronte al Duomo.
In chiave esoterica la scelta di spostare la fontana Angelica dove si trova oggi fu errata, dato che con questa nuova collocazione perse l’orientamento verso est.
Ai lati ci sono due gruppi femminili, la Primavera e l’Estate. Al centro in posizione più alta si trovano due figure maschili che versano acqua da un otre, l’Autunno e l’Inverno.
La Primavera è seduta su un mantello di fiori e con una mano accarezza un bimbo che lancia nell’aria uno stormo di rondini. Alle loro spalle c’è un altro bambino che solleva il mantello dove è seduta la donna.
L’Estate è sul lato destro appoggiata a fasci di spighe e vicino ha un bimbo che sorregge una ghirlanda piena di mele, pere ed uva.
L’Autunno, giovane, è appoggiato alla chiglia di una nave e nasconde in una mano una rosa un po’ appassita; la figura è avvolta da una ghirlanda di melograni e sull’altro lato vi è un bambino che gioca con ananas, banane e pannocchie.
L’inverno è una figura barbuta e corrucciata, appoggiata ad un ceppo di quercia dai rami spogli e nodosi. La sua mano afferra l’otre a forma di ariete, poggiato ad un’aquila con una sola ala aperta.
Sul lato posteriore si trova un bimbo sorridente con i capelli disposti a raggiera.Un altro bimbo gli offre un grosso pesce, mentre un terzo gioca con una ghirlanda di pigne.
L’Inverno guarda verso oriente e, insieme con l’Autunno, rappresenta i giganti Boaz e Jaquim, i due sostenitori delle colonne d’Ercole, i guardiani della soglia che immette sull’infinito.
