TESTI RELIGIOSI
Questo nome è attribuito ad un papiro conservato al Museo del Louvre dove, sotto forma di profezia, si immagina il quadro dell’Egitto durante la dominazione persiana e sotto gli ultimi sovrani egizi.
I faraoni vengono esaltati e il visionario che formula la profezia dice di attendere un salvatore che giungerà dalla Nubia per liberare l’Egitto dalla dominazione straniera.
Frequenti sono le allusioni ai sovrani della XXVIII, XXIX e XXX dinastia che fanno del papiro una fonte preziosa per la conoscenza di quell’epoca. Sembra che il testo risalga al periodo tolemaico. Se così fosse la visione profetica sarebbe in realtà diretta contro i Greci e non contro i Persiani.
Il testo riporta le profezie, scritte su tavolette, di un sacerdote etiope del dio Harshefi. Manca il contenuto delle prime profezie ma è possibile, basandosi sulle altre, intendere il procedimento seguito dall’autore che, dopo aver espresso un oracolo, ne offre sempre un commento un po’ più chiaro.
Ecco un passo di questo saggio di lettura profetica:
”Gioite, giovani che sapete pazientare.
I giovani che saranno presenti nel giorno della liberazione e che avranno saputo pazientare non saranno infelici come quelli che sono nel tuo giorno.
Vivano i cani!
Il grande Cane sa pazientare.
Egli ristabilirà la pace in Egitto al momento predestinato”.
Il parallelo con la letteratura apocalittica degli Ebrei è in questo testo tanto più evidente e sconcertante in quanto è la volontà divina ad intervenire in ogni cosa ed a causare le sciagure dell’Egitto e dei suoi sovrani in risposta al loro disprezzo della legge.
