Un ponte per il duca dell’occulto
Conosciuto anche come Ponte del Colombaro fu costruito nel 1902 dall’ingegnere Giovanni Antonio Porcheddu. Fu il primo ponte in cemento armato della città.
Sebbene Torino abbia celebrato i sovrani sabaudi intitolando loro numerose vie e piazze, a Carlo Emanuele I toccò soltanto essere ricordato con questo ponte.
Carlo, stravagante nei gesti e nei gusti, con un carattere portato a frequenti scoppi collerici regnò dal 1580 al 1630 ed ebbe dieci figli dalla moglie Caterina, figlia di Filippo II re di Spagna.
Versatile, dotato di una cultura superiore e di una curiosità innata, amava discorrere con i propri ospiti dei più svariati argomenti, dalla storia, alla poesia, all’astronomia ponendo loro domande che ai più lasciavano interdetti.
Per Carlo Emanuele la natura poi celava segreti occulti che a pochi era consentito conoscere.
In quel periodo storico l’alchimia, l’astrologia e la magia erano di moda tra i nobili e anche il duca ne era affascinato,
